Summertime Kansas City Bucket List (8 Places to check out in Kansas City)

We love making a summer bucket list for our City, and it is so much fun to let the kids get involved and make their own lists. Here are our top places we love going to in the summer time!

1.Line Creek train. It’s such a cute train in Kansas City and it’s only $0.75 per ride! The train goes around twice and when you’re done you can can go and see the train bell and whistle for the kids to ring and a cute slide. It’s also right next to a creek and a trail.

2. Shoal creek living history museum. It’s a cool museum that authentic buildings, buffalo, and re-enactments about once a month.

Go see and enjoy the buffalo, take a picnic with you, and walk the 80 acre park!

3. Olathe Splash pad and Creek. It's free and it's the kids favorite splash pad in Kansas City. We usually take a picnic with us and spend a few hours there. There are lots of tables for a picnic or you can always bring a blanket and sit in the grass.

4. Mid-Continent Public Library. You can find the events on their website, but they have story time during the week. In the Summer time they have lots of different events!

5. Nelson Atkins Museum. It's free and a great place to teach the kids about art, they have cool things like mummies and knights!

6. English Landing Park. We love taking our bikes there and riding on the trail next to the river.

7. Parkville Nature Sanctuary. They have some cool trails and waterfalls.

8. Powell Gardens. We specially love going at the very beginning of the summer, as all the flowers are blooming and beautiful!
